Angela Cowling
Registered Psychotherapist
Certified Grief Counselling Specialist

BA(Psych), MA, MACP

I have always been passionate about helping people work towards optimal wellness by exploring their concerns and using a goal-directed approach. I can help you learn new ways to cope, get back on track and build the life you deserve. I will provide  a safe and non-judgemental space to explore what you need. Some concerns I can help you with include anxiety, health anxiety, perfectionism, chronic illness, stress, grief and bereavement, depression, self-esteem, transition periods, relationships, issues related to being a new parent, and issues related to the pandemic.

I am a Registered Psychotherapist with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO) and a Member in Good Standing with the Ontario Association of Mental Health Professionals (OAMHP), and follow their ethical guidelines. I am also a Certified Grief Counselling Specialist.

My educational background includes a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Ryerson University and a Master’s degree in Kinesiology and Health Science from York University, where I specialized in sociocultural studies of chronic illness, and women’s experiences with cancer and therapeutic yoga. I also have a Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University where I focused on anxiety in my research.

My interests in mental and physical health come together to help me understand the importance in creating life balance and practicing regular self-care. For over a decade, I’ve had the pleasure of working with youth, university students, young professionals, athletes, those with cancer and other chronic illnesses, new parents, families, and those with seriously ill children. I look forward to working with you individually as you navigate working through stressful life experiences and transitions.

I take an integrative approach and am drawn to acceptance and commitment therapy, mindfulness-based techniques, cognitive-behavioural, emotion-focused, solution-focused, and narrative therapies. Together, we will find the best fit for your needs.

Sessions are offered through a secure online video platform and by telephone across Canada.  If you'd like to reach me, please email to set up a FREE 20-minute consultation:
